East Coulee School Museum presents:
David Haney - Music Outside the Box

Drumheller Civic Centre
8:00pm to 9:30pm

From Richland Oregon, one night only, David will perform a solo piano set and then will be joined by some of Calgary’s great improvisers - Alex Hutchinson on bass from Shadoplay and Stephen Krizan, percussion. Works by Ellington, Herbie Nicols, Monk and original tunes.

His work has been called “groundbreaking” and his approach “extraordinary“. David has played with some of the jazz greats including Julian Priester (on Miles Davis seminal Bitches Brew), Andrew Cyrille, Bernard Purdie ( drummer on Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow) , John Tchicai, and many others. . His CDs have garnered four “best CD awards” from Coda Magazine, Cadence Journal, and All About Jazz New York.

Haney has 12 CD's as bandleader and many as a collaborator. He relentlessly toured Europe, South America and North America to rave reviews.
